This year marked the 10th anniversary production of Crystal Couture Show & Sale, the fashion show and pop-up sale in Crystal City, Va. Taking place over two days in February, the seminal event brought new collections to the D.C. area.

“This year, we put La La Anthony’s collection, which we’re honored to be the first show ever that debuted her collection,” said Maggy François, producer of Crystal Couture in conjunction with the Crystal City Business Improvement District. “That says something big about her looking at the area and exposing fashion into our industry. Because people think D.C. is not a fashion hub, which you know, really it is.”

The fashion show featured local celebrity hosts, including Paul Wharton, Ashley Darby of the “Real Housewives of Potomac,” Ashleigh Demi and Diego Gonzalez-Zuniga. Chris Brown’s fashion line, Black Pyramid, and Robyn Dixon’s beauty brand also were featured at the show and sale.

‘I’m always excited to be part of something creative.’

In addition to the big names, there were more than 30 local designers showing their collections, including CJ Kollective, Dahnistry Couture, Blank Label, MiChic Boutique, Studio D’Maxsi and Chic Bella.

“I’m always excited to be part of something creative,” François said. “And what I’m most excited about is introducing different brands and emerging designers.”
